Travelling in China
Life in China is not all work, however, there is time for play and travel, and oon this apge, it is my hope to add photos and videos from some of my ventures here.

The adventures of travel in China are far and wide, with so many options open. Guangzhou, a growing metropolitan city, still holds some small but idealic tourist spots
Lotus Mountain, is one of many, a historical, religious and ancient quarry of over 2000 years, provides for a colourful and inspiring spot for a relaxing meditational and peaceful day, especially on a bright beautiful day in the sun.
Best time to go, is during the week, off peak, when the kids and families are at work and school, then ease of movement and pace is of your own choice, without a scramble to pass the crowds.
The night drew in on another day for the Chinese, as they celebrated 'Chinese New Year'. Entering a speedy year of the 'horse'.
Having enjoyed their traditional meals and visited familiy and friends, it was time onFebruary 18th, to pop out into the city and view the delights of the night.
This year, a visit to Guangzhous Light Display in Yeuxiu Park, the home of 'The Goat', where as the sun died down in the distance skies, the lights began to shine on a hustling bustling busy evening of visitors, both residence and tourists.
The cool evening air dispelled bright, breautiful displays of floral, animatic and even food shows, that blossomed in the darking evening skies. The crowds, chattering, smiling, enjoying, venturing through the park and exploring the delights and sights of the nights expeditions, with both historical and traditional views to see also.
This display of approximately 5kms, took about 2 to 3 hours to truly enjoy and explore, as long as you could whisk past the mounting number of visiors entering, even as the coolness of the night,, turned to a more brisk feeling, but the warmth and happiness of the evening, was far greater than the concern of how cool or colder it was getting, as consistant moving, devouring the multiple traditional food choices, including spectacular ice cream designs (including pandas), left you satisfied and pleasanlty surprised at the developing skills the Chinese continue to produce with their light shows, both in and out of the cities.

Nansha Light Display
February 19th 2026
Nansha, a district in Guangzhou, Southern China, exploited the chance to brighten the lives of holiday goers, as they produced an outstandingly amazing array of bright lights and drone displays, to entertain native and tourist.
Walking around the park, ranging from 7 to 10kms long and around, displays were seen almost all around. Vast numbers of people visited this display, which although was not close to the main city, did allow viewers to also enjoy the local mouth of the sea, leading to the South China Sea.
Expeditions ranged from spacial, animated, cartoon and even histrorical and traditional displays. Commencing the walk at dusk, as the sun slipped into the sunset and the night expelled the bright lights of the park, the view opened up and the sight became more delightful and transparant.
China has been building more adventourous and extreme displays over the past few year, and having viewed this outstanding display for over 3 hours, the vening closed with a simple advertising drone show, but still, the technological advances, provided an almost exceptional, ten minute display of writing and characters in the sky.
This trip was entertaining, interesting and took another step into the changes being made within the Chinese society, to ensure that both native and tourist, could enjoy the developing skills of the nation and feel in some small way, a child again, as people strode, crawled, and wheeled around this vastly large expedition.
